Senior Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate @ California Polytechnic State University
Hi, I'm Jason

I am passionate about all things AI. I aim to break into smart manufacturing by leveraging AI and robotics in the defense and aerospace sectors. My excitement lies in creating innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technology and drive excellence in performance. I strive to contribute insights to the rapidly evolving world of AI. As a student learning alongside large language models, I share my perspective on their impact across learning, working, and, of course, manufacturing in my blog "The AI Arms Race."
My professional experience spans three internships where I explored how engineering, AI, and automation transform industries. At Roncelli Plastics, I worked on smart manufacturing and digital transformations, developing tools to optimize production and data analysis. At HCT Packaging, I focused on sustainability and innovation, analyzing materials and creating automated systems to support marketing and product development. Earlier, at The Science Factory, I engineered creative projects that blended technology with entertainment. Together, these experiences reflect my passion for using technology to drive efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

More About Me
My passion for engineering started early as a young kid who loved video games, which sparked my interest in computers. What began as curiosity about how games were made grew into a drive to solve problems hands-on, leading me to found my high school robotics team and dive deeper into building and creating. That same curiosity and determination continue to fuel my approach to engineering today. My excitement for AI grew when, in November 2022, my high school computer science class underwent a significant shift with the release of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Outside of work, I bring the same energy for challenge and growth to my personal life. I grew up playing a variety of sports and still love pushing myself physically in every way, whether it’s surfing, golfing, or working out at the gym. One of my proudest accomplishments was completing the Ironman 70.3 in Morro Bay, an experience that tested my endurance and discipline in the same way engineering challenges test my creativity and persistence. Just as important, I’ve always loved connecting with people and building relationships, which is a passion I have carried into my role as President of my fraternity, where leading and socializing are at the heart of what I do.
